Our Story

Since 2001 we have proudly been Pillager Area Charter School. PACS stood out in the Central Lakes area as an alternative school of choice for grades 9-12 and recently added the 7th and 8th grades. PACS has sustained for over 20 years, which proudly holds a place on a short list of being one of the longest operating Charter Schools in the state. In hopes to stand out stronger, create new interest, and ensure our staying power, we chose to rebrand as Central Lakes Adventure School.

We think our program is located in one of the best places in the state, the Central Lakes region! This region of the state boasts over 465 lakes from Brainerd, to Crosslake, to Gull Lake, and beyond. In just a short hike or drive, we have access to Pillsbury State Forest, Crow Wing State Park, Kathio State Park, Father Hennepin State Park, Cuyuna Recreation Area, and 100 miles of the Paul Bunyan Trail. This landscape provides easy accessibility to create the adventures in learning we want to share with your student!
