SARAH SCHLAKE

My name is Sarah Schlake, and I am the Executive Director of Central Lakes Adventure School. I received my Bachelors and Masters in Education from Winona State University in Minnesota and have spent my career in education here.  Before school leadership, I was fortunate to have teaching experiences in every grade level from Pre Kindergarten to 12th grade. As an innovative charter school leader, I have had the ultimate privilege to bring true and authentic education directly to the unique needs of the students, and Project Based Learning is by far my favorite!

In my spare time, I really enjoy hiking and exploring (especially waterfalls), and finding any way to be on the water–but most definitely on my kayak when I can.  I like going to live music events, reading, and just spending time with my family and friends.

My home is with my son, Maverick, and our dog-Buddy, and cat-Barb.

My promise to the school is to uphold the vision and mission of creating a community of learners-both staff and students alike-that can identify the true value of learning through Projects and Experiential Learning as we prepare the students to be successful adults with a love of adventure, their environment, and themselves.
